Why do we teach Christianity
As if the message is just for the Pharisees
Already well-versed in cryptic Bible-speak
Have we forgotten the rest of humanity
Why deny - other tribes
Jesus died - to re-unite
If faith in one humanity
Can - be -
Described in common terms
Like planting mustard seeds
Why - hide -
Behind a wall of words,
religions that impede
By the letter of the law,
if Jesus set us free
Tell the tribes - the time is right
To unify - in Jesus Christ
There's no more Jew or Greek
All are one in Jesus Christ
Blessed will be the poor and meek
Remnants called from every tribe
So live like lilies in the field
Do all things with charity
Confess your faults, forgive and heal

Why Jesus wept

And reconcile - in Jesus Christ
Why do we treat Christianity, like some divine monopoly
Preached by the Pharisees, in copyrighted Bible-speak
Why make an idol of the laws, misjudge each other without cause
If Jesus set us free, have we forgotten what that means
