THE WOMEN'S PLAY FESTIVAL 1999,
a festival of short plays by women authors,
is planned this year for March 1999.
Last year's WOMEN'S PLAY FESTIVAL --
the first all Houston women's theatre festival --
was an unqualified success.

There is no limit to the number of scripts
women authors may submit for WPF-99,
but each must be accompanied by a $10 entry fee --
payable to LARRY DURBIN (the Festival Producer).
An honorarium of $25 will be awarded
to the author of each script produced.

Scripts will be judged by a panel of
women judges and the Festival Producer.
The scripts will be judged on the basis of
artistic merit, applicability to women's
issues, and production constraints.

To be considered for WPF-99, scripts must:

1. be FIFTEEN (15) MINUTES or less
in production length
2. contain EIGHT (8) or fewer characters,
with minimal tech
3. be submitted in STANDARD PLAY FORMAT,
with FOUR (4) copies,
and without the name
of the author on the script
4. include a SEPARATE SHEET (for each script)
with the title of the play,
and the author's name,
address, and telephone number
5. be received by JANUARY 4, 1999 at the address below:

FESTIVAL PRODUCER
312 W. 21st Street
Houston, Texas 77008

SCRIPTS WILL BE RETURNED ONLY WITH S.A.S.E.
